Fortunately, Chrome for mobile already features a home button icon at the top of the UI. However, it is also possible to change the default home page on mobile.

Choose your homepage
- On your computer, open Chrome.

- Under “Appearance,” turn on Show Home button.
The Home Touch Buttons are displayed in a bar at the bottom of all of the screens to provide easy navigation within the device software. Back Button: Tap to back up one step at a time and close on-screen items such as pop-up messages, the on-screen keyboard, etc.
The button isn’t gone forever, just follow these steps to get it back. Fire up Chrome, click the menu icon, and then click on “Settings.” Alternatively, you can type chrome://settings/ into the Omnibox to go directly there. Scroll down and under the Appearance heading, toggle “Show Home Button” on.
Mine disappeared as well. The home button is enabled in settings.
Turn it on by this way:
- Search chrome://flags.
- Search ‘Chrome duet’
- Set it to ‘Enabled Home-Search-TabSwitcher variation’
- Restart chrome.
How do I set the home page in Chrome?
- Launch “Chrome” app.
- Open the website or web page you want to pin to your home screen.
- Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to homescreen.
- You’ll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and then Chrome will add it to your home screen.
The Chrome menu button is a series of three dots in a vertical line found at the top right of an open Chrome window. It sits at the far right-end outside the URL bar. This button cannot be hidden so you should always be able to see and use it even if the browser is in full-screen mode.
How do I get the Home icon back on my toolbar?
At the top of the Advanced settings menu, you’ll see a toggle for Show the home button. Switch this toggle to On, and you should see the home button appear on your toolbar immediately. A text box will also appear.
How to toggle the Touchscreen home button in Android: Android phones usually have an in-built home screen, Back button, and/or recent apps button within the screen. However, if you wish to customize the buttons, the apps mentioned below can come in handy.
Under Accessibility, you will have to scroll down to the section INTERACTION and tap Assistive Touch. You will to toggle the Assistive Touch option ‘ON’. Once this is done, you will get a white circle with a grey box on the screen. You can expand it to a big box by tapping on the circle.
